Tips for a Spa Birthday Party
Turning 13-years-old marks a special milestone in a girl’s life. She’s sure to be excited about becoming an official teenager. A fun way to recognize this transitional birthday is to throw her a Spa Birthday Party. Your daughter and her friends will enjoy being pampered as they celebrate her big day. These tips will make her Spa Birthday Party a success.
1. Recruit volunteers. You’ll need several volunteers to pull off the spa portion of this party. If you know two older teenagers who have a flair for hairstyling and polishing nails, recruit them to help. They’ll be the ones responsible for contemporary hairdos and fashionable nails.
2. Gather your supplies together. You’ll need emery boards, a variety of fingernail polishes, nail art, polish remover, and cotton balls for manicures and pedicures. Mary Kay’s Satin Hands line make a great addition to any manicure and pedicure. Have bowls and containers ready for soaking hands and feet, and have enough hand towels and bath towels for each guest.
Individual combs and brushes, a blow dryer, hot curlers, hair clips, holding spray, mousse, gel, oil sheen, rubber bands, and hair bands for styling will be useful. Have plenty of mirrors available, too.
Purchase cucumbers to slice and place over the girls’ eyes while their face masks set. So, yes, you’ll need to buy a face mask cream or make your own.
Don’t forget to buy flip-flops for all the girls to wear at the spa, and then they’ll take them home as a party gift. So make sure you ask each girl her shoe size prior to the party.
3. Create the spa atmosphere. Establish the party/spa area. Set up a manicure table and hairstyling area. If you own or can borrow enough lounge chairs for each girl, set them up. Place magazines, bottled water, fruit drinks, finger foods and fruit in the spa area. Play soothing music and dim the lights. You can light a few candles for ambiance.
4. Take plenty of pictures. When the guests arrive, take pictures of them. After they’ve received their spa treatment, take photographs again. Make sure to take pictures of the girls being pampered, too. Print these pictures out, so the girls will have before and after pictures of their spa experience.
This party theme works as a pajama party, too. Just tell the girls to pack their bags for a night at the spa. Then the girls will have all night to enjoy your daughter’s thirteenth Spa Birthday Party.
